Collection: LAYANSS

Layan (b. 2002) is a Jordanian digital artist and painter whose work is raw, instinctive, and deeply personal—an unfiltered reflection of the moment she creates it. Her style is heavily influenced by Neo-expressionism and urban culture, drawing inspiration from artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Philip Guston, as well as the energy and rhythm of rap music.

Layan’s artistic journey took a defining turn during COVID when she isolated herself from technology and immersed fully in painting. With no distractions, she refined her techniques, experimented with styles, and let music guide her process. For her, art isn’t about delivering a specific message—it’s about the process. Each piece begins with a feeling rather than a concept, often driven by a craving for a certain color or the impulse to explore a new tool.

Music plays a major role in her creative flow, with lyrics, fleeting thoughts, and subconscious scribbles often making their way onto her canvases, sometimes becoming cryptic even to her over time. Beyond painting, she incorporates art into every aspect of her life—from styling and decorating to sculpting, sewing, and jewelry design.

Dreaming of collaborations that push creative boundaries, she hopes to work with visionary designers like Vivienne Westwood and Miuccia Prada, as well as beauty brands like MadebyMitchell.
